Lex Brown (born November 29, 1984 in Fayetteville, North Carolina), better known as 1Reazn, is an American song writer, hip hop recording artist and producer. He is also the founder and director of Trend Dodger Music Group (a publishing imprint affiliated through BMI). 1Reazn was raised mainly in the southeast section of Atlanta, Georgia. In June of 2010 1Reazn released an EP entitled “Synopsis”, made available on www.datpiff.com. Many listeners have expressed love and appreciation for his work, and continue to listen to and download the projects that he releases to the public. In August 2010 he is dropping his first “official” debut solo LP, entitled “E.F. Hutton”. It will be digitally distributed via CDBaby, iTunes, eMusic, Rhapsody, Amazon mp3, and many other online retailers.
He began writing poetry and song lyrics at the age of 11. Thanks to his mother’s passion for music and international culture, he was instantly hooked, appreciating different sounds and styles. From there he developed deep into the music of hip hop luminaries including 2Pac, Nas, OutKast, Goodie Mobb, and The Roots, taking from them a love for story telling with an unbridled rigor. For two years they recorded and performed as much as possible, helping each other hone their crafts. Eventually, as they entered young adulthood, some grew in separate directions. So they dissolved the partnership and moved forward, though keeping their personal ties strong. One of 1Reazn’s good friends and business partners from that start-up venture is Jeron Ward of Royal Flush Entertainment (a grammy-nominated producer who puts in time at Stankonia Studios and co-produced Big Boi of Outkast’s single “Royal Flush” in 2009).
Feeling the need to be heard, 1Reazn is using college and the military as a tool to chase his dreams. He attended Georgia State University on the HOPE scholarship, choosing to remain in his hometown of Atlanta before deciding to enlist in the U.S. Air Force and take his dreams international. “Not to sound morbid, but I’d die before I’d forfeit // these billion-dollar dreams // prophesizing bout that profit // visualize prosperity and watch it manifest // chase the cheese, in this rat race // procedure of success . . ,” he vehemently spits over the N.I.P. produced upcoming album cut “Proclamation.”
With such a diverse train of thought and expression, 1Reazn is poised to wake up a dormant industry and cement his name in this game. But more than that, with his debut studio album currently in production, he hopes to change the tide of current rap music, swaying it in a more insightful, meaningful and passionate direction.
